  • The Nortel Secure Router 3120 - Booting, New Firmware, etc.

    Hello,

We have a Nortel Secure Router 3120 installed at a site and we have a few issues and questions:

    1. The device, when undergoing a power cycle, boots into a vxWorks environment and does not load the firmware. While we can get the fireware loaded manually we are wondering how we can automate the loading of the firmware instead of having to do this manually.

    2. Is there a later firmware available for the device? Currently we have revision 9.0.4 loaded but we are wondering if there is a later version available for download.

    3. We cannot get the SSH server started, even after generating a public key and saving it to the root directory. When we try to start the server via console we get an error message stating that the SSH server cannot be started.

    4. In relations to the vxWorks question, is telnet enabled when the device is in the vxWorks mode? During console the output indicates that the device gets 10.10.1.10 as an IP address but when I attempt to telnet no response is received from the server. This would be helpful to connect to the device as getting to the device is a hassle when it is in a distant location.

Thank you very much for your time.

    Regards,
    Christopher K.

Tried that and their forums. Just thought I'd try other places as well.
