  • Domain DNS

    Hi,

We currently have our exchange server owa accessible via https://ip.ip.ip.ip/owa. We're wanting a subdomain to point to this as its more professional. how do we go about setting mail.domain.com to https://ip.ip.ip.ip/owa

I have a feeling we'll need to make a alteration somewhere in the domain DNS and perhaps change a setting within IIS.

We cant change our mx record at all as it goes through eclipse anti-spam servers.

    many thanks for any help!

    Re: Domain DNS

You just need to create an A or CNAME record something like: webmail.mycompany.com that points to the external ip address of the Exchange server. In IIS on the Exchange server, in the properties of the Default Web Site, on the Home Directory tab select the third radio button (A redirection to a URL) ans type /exchange in the text field, then select the second check box (A directory below URL entered).

Then you'll be able to browse to https://webmail.mycompany.com an it will go right to OWA.
