  • Freeware SNMP monitor?

    Hello,

Please I have many devices in our network which support SNMP protocol. Does anybody know some free SNMP monitor? Some opensource with map making etc...
I found PRTG network monitor which is perfect but in free edition is only for 10 sensors.

    Thanks
    Thanks

    Moved to General Networking

If you use managed switches you may find the management software includes SNMP capabilities (if I remember my dim, distant 3-com days....)

While I can't personally recommend one, you may want to check out this mondo list of SNMP software. Also, there is a section for SNMP tools in this biggest, most humongous list of network tools EVER. That should give you some leads, at least.

        HI caspi,

I am not sure if you are a *NIX shop, but Nagios is free and extremely robust. i have used it in a few enviroments. It is tricky to setup but there are some really good reference books and online resources to help you get started.

I use Cacti http://www.cacti.net/ and The Dude http://www.mikrotik.com/thedude.php. Both are free and work really well. The Dude is very easy to setup in Windows while Cacti works better in Linux and is slightly more difficult to setup. If you have VMWare you can download a fully installed VM of Cacti at http://cactiusers.org/index.php.
