  • Port Turn Amber Then Green After Replug in.

    Hi,

Please assist. I have a Cisco 3650G switch. It happens that the port that connects to the Network will suddenly turn Amber. When I plug out and in the cable from the port, it turns back Green. Besides that, I am running on STP algorithm. Really appreciated if anyone could help. Thank you.

    Cheers.

Youll need to console in or use ssh to check the status of the port at the time it is amber, i used to have a similar problem if i run a hub of of one of the ports and occasionaly the port would be disabled because of the nature of the hub.

the port should go amber for a few seconds when you first plug in a device due to STP, unless you have disabled spanning-tree.
