    hi everybody

    i have a fiber link and i would like to connect two 3com 3300 sm switches how far can these
    switches be apart ??

    Theoretically, if we could manufacture perfect glass fibre there would be no limitation. In practice, it depends on the type of fibre cable you use, the quality of the transceivers and the comms standard you use. Have a look at table 2 under Latest Standards here
