  • Understanding and E1 controller

    Hi all,

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but this is my first time on here.

Ive been trying to figure out what a E1 controller is but havent found anything useful on the internet.

    Here's my understanding.

The contoller card is what all the serial interfaces sit on. If a controller was to bounce all the serial connections would bounce to?

Also does the E1 connection connect into the controller card or would it go into a serial inteface.

The reason I ask is because I have seen the controller card bounce on a cisco device and the cct was booked out to the telco.

Im stuggling to understand why the telco cct needs checking if the controller bounced and the cct would plug into one of the serial interfaces?

If the controller bounced was this not a hardware\software issue on the router and nothing to do with the Telco?

    Thanks in advance
