  • Problems setting up a local printer

    Hi,

The printer I am having problems with is a label printer supplied from UPS (the delivery service) and this problem is only occurring when trying to print the labels off their website.

I'm having problems tricking a PC on our network to see a shared printer as a local printer. I have tried setting it up on a TCP/IP port but this doesn't work with the web page I am using to print from, I have also tried setting up a local port and adding in the PC name along with the share name of the pc i.e. \\pcname\sharename.

Does any one know of another way of connecting to this printer and tricking the PC to think itís a local printer?

I would greatly appreciate any help that you can provide.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Have you tried:

    net use LPT1: \\servername\printersharename

Cheers for that mate, it seems to have worked very well. I may well possibly be using that method for all other instances like this in the future

      Again Cheers.
