  • Prevent shares between different networks

    I have this situation :
    I have 2 networks :
    1 : IP : 192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.20 / 255.255.255.0
    2: IP : 198.123.6.2 - 198.123.6.30 / 255.255.255.0

There is a server with Windows 2000 server with 2 NIC
    1) 192.168.1.2 \ 255.255.255.0
    2) 198.123.6.1 \ 255.255.255.0

There is 1 HUB for Network 1 ( where is connected the FIRST NIC of server)
and a HUB for Network 2 ( where is connected the second NIC )
in the first HUB is connected a DSL Modem with IP 192.168.1.1.

I have activated on server the ICS (to enable internet for second network)
The problem is : I DON'T WANT USERS FROM DIFFERENT NETWORKS TO SEE EACH OTHER AND TO SHARE FILES.What can i do ?

    ---
if i disable File and print sharing on the 2 NICs of server ??? or can i do something else ?

    Thank you !

Re: Prevent shares between different networks

    Hi,

Block all the ports on the router between both the networks and open required ports only (e.g. for HTTP, etc) as per your requirements.
