  • Help with 3Com Switches (3870 48 port)

I am having problems with our 3Com Super Stack Switches 3870 48 Port. We have 3 of these switches and they are stacked together. The switches act as they would reboot once a week. All Network clients all of a sudden would act as they were physically disconnected from the network jack, and then in about 15-30 seconds would get reconnected. Also 3 of the stacked switches are connected through a fiber to 2 more 3Com 3870 switches which are not stacked.
Also we have 4 VLANs configured on the switches, and once in a while when switches are acting wired, they are not passing DHCP traffic trough. Once they are rebooted everything seems to work ok. If anybody has any ideas or seen this before please help.

Do you have support on these switches? If not, It might benefit you to pay for a support call on them. It sounds like a STP issue.

Do you have the switches on a UPS? If so, have you checked the batteries of the UPS recently? or is the UPS properly scaled to handle the switches?

Possible power issue if you ask me.
