  • Setup 2nd Site to Replicate Win2003 DC & DNS

    Hi Folks,

We recently added a 2nd site linked via dedicated T-1 (point to point). While the first site has two Win2003 DC/DNS servers, we'd like to add one more to the new site, and have AD & DNS replicated over.

What's the best process to do so? Should I just add the new server to the domain first? Then promote it to a DC?

    Thanks

You should be able to just run dcpromo.

If the second site is on a different subnet (I'm assuming it is) make sure you set it up in the AD Sites and Services console and that replication is set up properly, otherwise you could have issues with logons, AD replication, etc.
