  • 1 of 3 in Workgroup not accessible

3 computers all joined FTP workgroup
    all XP Home
all connected to a D-Link Router
    all can browse the internet
all have Client for MS Network, File & Printer Sharing, TCP/IP
I also did the home network wizard and ran the file on all computers

A laptop multiple logons (no password)
B desktop same logon as desktop C (no password)
C desktop same logon as desktop B (no password)

In "Workgroup Computers" A and B can see ABC but C is not accessible

C can't even access the FTP workgroup (can browse to see FTP but then it is not accessible)

How do I get desktop C to play nice and I guess first of all even access the FTP workgroup? I can browse to see FTP Workgroup but it just hangs when I try to access it.

Make sure that the server service is working on the PCs that are unreachable by other clients. Check event viewer for any errors.

Have you made sure simple file sharing is disabled (folder options from windows explorer), i've seen this cause me problems in the past when setting up clients in workgroup senarios.

In XP Home Edition you must have the same User Names and Password in each systems, means you need to set up the same User name and password in A, B and C to be able to browse each other.
Be aware of all of three system are under the same Workgroup.
Be sure if the Computer Browser service is up and running.
