  • Connecting Fortigate and a D-Link Wifi Router on DMZ

    Hello!

I need to connect a D-link Wifi Router (DIR-300), to a Fortigate-60's DMZ port, so any laptop connecting to the D-Link, will get Internet access - but through the Fortigate's DMZ Port.

ADSL Modem ------------> Fortigate WAN Port

D-Link's WAN Port -----> Fortigate DMZ Port

The D-Link has it's own DHCP to give to the laptops connecting to it.

I tried (I think) ANY possible configuration of Internet connection and LAN setup on the D-Link, and messed with the Fortigate's Static Route table (and the D-Link too).

All I managed to get - is DNS (ping from a laptop connected on wifi. Ping gets the IP of the URL I ping, but timeouts all the time.)

Anyone can make it clearer of what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    s0und.

Is icmp allowed from the DMZ port to the internet?
Best way for testing is just plugging in a notebook or pc into the dmz port..

Re: Connecting Fortigate and a D-Link Wifi Router on DMZ

Thank for the reply! I solved the "problem" today.

I gave the D-Link the DMZ's IP as a default gateway & DNS server, and made a new policy on the Fortigate to allow DMZ(all)-->WAN(all), and vise-versa - including NAT.

Once in a few minutes, there are some dead moments, when connections to the D-Link are not getting any respond, but besides that- it works like a charm!

      Thanks!
