  • Remote managemnet port 8080 to be changed

Right now I can login remotely to my D-Link Router by using :

http://20x.12x.1xx.4xx:8080,,,,(WAN IP address for D-Link router)

For a security reason, can I change the port number from default value (8080) to 9546,,,or any other numbers ?

    Regards

Most likely. Have you checked the manual on how to do so? What is the model of your router?

It would not help security to do that anyway. A simple port scan could then see the router on the new port. Remember the adage: "Obscurity is not security". So making the port number "hard to find" isn't really a security solution.

Changing the router's login password to a strong one, and changing it every so often, is a much better method of securing your router's configuration interface.
