  • Problem loading IOS 722 on PIX 515

I acquired a PIX 515, but when i attempt to load IOS 722 from a tftp server i get the following:

    Code:
Cisco PIX Security Appliance admin loader (3.0) #0: Wed Jan 31 16:33:47 PST 2007
    #####################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################################
    sumval(0xc1e9) chksum(0x0 )md5(0x578e230f 0x993b5ab5 0xdbbe3c36 0x88a50ebf)
    md5(0x9010b752 0x62976bda 0xf115b2d7 0x0078a61b)
Checksum verification on uncompressed image failed.
but loading 635 it loads but right away asks for activation key.

the pix had a sticker that said "sanitized" on it when i got it, so i am assuming the previous admin erased the flash.

i have gotten ahold of the erasedisk622.bin, and it says it runs 64 successful passes.

Re: Problem loading IOS 722 on PIX 515

It would appear that your PIX binary image file is corrupt. Download a fresh copy of the binary image pix724-k8.bin and erase your flash if possible then copy the image to the pix again and attempt to reboot.

If your PIX 515 has 128MB memory then you should run pix804-28.bin
