  • configuring port range on ASA using ASDM

    Greetings,

    I am trying to open a range of ports above 1023 for FTP transfer on my ASA5505 using ASDM 5.2. I am new to the Cisco world and having difficulty locating exactly where I need do this at.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: configuring port range on ASA using ASDM

    Good morning,

    You will need a NAT translation to get this accomplished.

    How it's done on a switch:
    #terminal: ip nat service list 10 ftp tcp port 12345
    #terminal: ip nat service list 10 ftp tcp port 21 <- if you still want to use port 21.

    Using the ASDM GUI:
    Configure->NAT->Add IP Translation
    Enter a host address, and then redirect port 21 traffic to a port of your choice.

    I haven't tried this on the ASDM 5.2, but here's a similar article on CISCO that may help you out... Ok, nevermind. I can't post links....
