ipsec or ssl vpn, or other ?

take a look at this link for a starter as to which ports an inbound VPN would need

you'd like to know if there is a way to enable/configure VPN access to a router, if you don't open the relevant TCP ports on the router ?

          Re: Allow VPN sessions only

My setup was internet-->firewall-->router(vpn server). i want to allow vpn sessions on the firewall to the vpn server. i think i'll just allow the ports used by vpn on the firewall to get through to the router(vpn server)
