  • VPN configuration with ASA 5510 and ISA 2006

Our network currently uses an ISA 2006 server as our primary firewall. Since we have had several problems with it when users try to connect remotely using VPN, we want to configure our ASA 5510 to handle just VPN requests.

How do we set this up using these settings?

ISA 2006 Outside Interface IP 72.x.x.161
    Inside Interface IP 192.x.2.x

    ASA Outside Interface IP 72.x.x.164
    Inside Interface IP 192.x.3.x

DHCP is running on a Windows 2K3 server releases addresses from 192.x.2.x to 192.x.3.x.

Are there any tutorials on how to do using ASDM?

    Thank you in advance!

Maybe it's easier to resolve te issues with ISA Server?
Maybe you can tell more about that?

Re: VPN configuration with ASA 5510 and ISA 2006

      Hi there,

Well, we haven't had many problems with our ISA server except for when we install Windows Updates. Some updates such as the one described here: http://forums.isaserver.org/m_200207...htm#2002079134, will disable VPN access. Since the update in the mentioned article had nothing to do with a certain port, at least that's what we thought, we installed it and only found out that it affected VPN access the day after.

We have several employees that work outside the city and we need VPN access enabled at all times. Have you ever seen this issue? Do you have any recommendations?

      Thank you,
      Christian
