  • pix 506E booting to PCI Device table

We have an older pix 506e that I just took off the shelf to reconfigure.

When I boot it comes up to

    PCI Device Table.
Bus Dev Func VendID DevID Class Irq
    00 00 00 8086 7192 Host Bridge
    00 07 00 8086 7110 ISA Bridge
    00 07 01 8086 7111 IDE Controller
    00 07 02 8086 7112 Serial Bus 9
    00 07 03 8086 7113 PCI Bridge
    00 0D 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 11
    00 0E 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 10

Thats it. It wont respond to any keyboard input. I reseated the memory to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

probably a good idea to put anti spam stuff in your email address.

You could try unplugging and removing the battery in there too. This helped one of mine a while ago. Check the fan still runs too.
    cheers

Andy - Good news - it was the battery. THANKS.

Bad news - I broke the batter holder off the mother board .

      I just need to re-solder.

      Thanks for the help!

Re: pix 506E booting to PCI Device table

          Hi,

I have the same issue. I have not use the device for few months and when it was the time my boot was stopping after

          32 MB RAM

          PCI Device Table.
Bus Dev Func VendID DevID Class Irq
          00 00 00 8086 7192 Host Bridge
          00 07 00 8086 7110 ISA Bridge
          00 07 01 8086 7111 IDE Controller
          00 07 02 8086 7112 Serial Bus 9
          00 07 03 8086 7113 PCI Bridge
          00 0D 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 11
          00 0E 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 10
          ,................................................

So I think i may need another battery. the question is -
What battery I need? any special things? Were should I get it?
          Thanks

Re: pix 506E booting to PCI Device table

I think I could keep booting it without a battery (sans time).
From memory it was just the two cross head screws on the case and it just slipped off (matron...)
If you aren't sure or the box is in warranty then don't do it though.
            cheers
