Cisco Pix 501 unable to access Ethernet0 from Ethernet1

  • Cisco Pix 501 unable to access Ethernet0 from Ethernet1

    I have cisco pix 501 firewall. I am trying to configure but I am unable to ping or access Ethernet0 from Ethernet1 (From LAN unable to access WAN).

    Can anybody send the configuration for the same to access internet from Local Network for pix 501.

    I don't believe you can ping the external interfaces IP address from a host on the inside network be default.

    For internet access the minimum you will need, assuming correct router setup..

    nameif ethernet0 outside security0
    nameif ethernet1 inside security100
    interface ethernet0 100full
    interface ethernet1 100full
    ip address outside 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.248
    ip address inside 10.0.0.254 255.255.255.0
    route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 1.1.1.2
    nat (inside) 1 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0
    global (outside) 1 interface

    roughly..

      Thanks for the reply.

      I am using BSNL Broad Band Internet through PPPOE protocol. My Internet BSNL router broadcast ip address is 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 but when I connect to the internet gating ip address 90.90.210.2 255.255.255.255 90.90.210.2 & this is the static ip address provided by bsnl.

      I cant understand how can I configure PIX. Which ip address wants to assigned to e0 port. when I configure pix e0 on pppoe protocol showing connected but form e1 port e0 is not pinging & allowing to access internet.
