    FYI to all-
    when ordering a new router or switch OR upgrading one of the newer Cisco devices, the Cisco IOS has been renamed and repackaged.

    In the past, the IOS file would look like this-

    The problem with that is knowing what features are contained in the "is" version.

    The new IOS file would look like this-

    This began in IOS 12.3

    I see that this applies to these routers- 1700, 2600XM, 2691, 3700, 2800, 3800 but not the 2600 and 3600 series routers.
