  • SNMP: What MAC addres is connected to a port

    Hello,

    I'm using CISCO's Catalyst 2950.

I want to run an SNMP query that will tell me the MAC address of the PC connected to a specified port of the 2950.

I tried to load IF-MIB but:

mgmt->mib-2->interfaces->ifTable->ifEntry->ifPhysAddress does not give the required information.

I also have to query the following information:

    1. Number of valid/invalid UDP packets received in specified port.
    2. Status of a specified port: up/down.

    Can you help ?

    Thanks,
    Zvika.

If I understand your post correctly, you will need to use community string indexing. The following links should get you started in the right direction.
