  • A host is not pingable

A host is not pingable from anywhere on our network except from the router that is the gateway of that host but when i try to ping this user from the switch that the user is connected to the host is still not pingable when i use tracert it stops at the gateway router of that user i can't find the cause of this problem.

      Yes

      [PC]----[SWITCH]-----[ROUTER(R1)]-----------[ENTERPRISE NETWORK]

I can't ping this host from any where except from this router R1.

Re: A host is not pingable

It sounds like a misconfigured ip address on the host in question. Running a tracert to a host on the same network shouldn't be going to the gateway, it should go directly to the host.
