  • Connectivity issues between host, Cisco switch, and Cisco router...

    Hello everyone,
Iím currently experiencing connectivity problems on my Cisco home lab for a lab challenge that I donít have an answer to. I can ping a default gateway from the PC through the switch and I can ping the host from the router through the switch. But I cannot ping either the host or the router from the switch. Also, hereís what the topology looks like (HOST -----Switch-----Router) Hereís the equipment thatís being used
Host running Windows XP SP2 (no firewall running)
    Cisco Switch 2950
    Cisco Router 1841
Also here is the configuration for the switch, and router

Your switch config shows that there's only 1 interface with an IP address on it (Vlan1), and it's in a 'shutdown' state. Until it's active you won't be able to A) ping into the switch from your network, or B) ping from the switch to any other device. Also, your switch's default gateway value is in a different subnet than the IP on Vlan1. They should be in the same address range, unless your switch is routing as well, which yours isn't.
