  • layer 3 switch config

Hi, we have 2 layer 3 switch (switch1 and switch2) which are interconnected and each are routed to different ISPs. they have the same configurations and vlans. Vlans differ only on prioriity. some vlans have higher priority on switch1 and other vlans are on switch2. So that the users are balanced among the ISPs. My question is how will i configure my layer 3 switch in such that if one ISP is down all vlans who has a higher prioprity on that layer 3 switch connected will automatically diverted to other ISP or otehr switch. For example. switch1 is connected to ISP1 and switch2 is connected to ISP2. When ISP1 is down all users who are connected to switch1 will automatically diverted to switch2 so that they wil the ISP2 for internet.

    Thanks in advance.

What firewall are you using..? To me I think it should belong on the firewall to handle this.
A layer 3 switch, I don't know it it supports failover.

With ASA you can configure failover for sure.
