  • Cisco 857 - Bridge config

I tried the instructions in the following thread:

    http://forums.petri.com/showthread.php?t=27427

However, my cisco 837 wouldn't accept the command:

    encapsulation aal5MUX

My router requires an additional ip, or ppp option to the encapsulation aal5MUX command.

Any pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Chris

Run the command encapsulation ? to see what options you have.
Otherwise you might have an old IOS version or so.. With the show version command you can view your current version. Check the cisco site if there is a newer release

Re: Cisco 857 - Bridge config

      My cisco version is:

      C837 Software (C837-K9O3Y6-M), Version 12.3(2)XC2

I don't have a support contract so is it possible to get an updated IOS?

      Many thanks,

      Chris
