  • install IOS on a new switch

    Hi,
    I am new in networking. Please help....
    I need to config a new switch 3750. I have backup the IOS from our old switch via copy flash tftp and store in my laptop.
    How can I load that backup image to the new switch?
    I am connecting the new switch to my laptop via console port now...
    By tftp? The new switch do not have any config..ip, name, ...etc...

    If you are connected via the console port you only need to know te Ip address of the tftp server when prompted.

      Thanks....

      however...some problem occur. I try to copy tftp flash...

      then enter the tftp server host: 10.0.10.199
      with following error:

      Destination filename [switch-confg]? testing
      %Error opening tftp://10.0.10.199/testing (Socket error)
      Switch#

      I have also try copy running-config to tftp...same error

      but....run on the old switch..i can copy file to that tftp..

      so..it seem is the switch problem...

      i need to config anything?? please help!!
