  • Cisco PIX 501 with ADSL Modem

    Hi Guys,

    Too start off then, I got my hands on a Cisco PIX 501 Firewall the otherday and would like to install it in my small network.

    At present I have a Netgear FVS114 firewall but I want to replace this with the Cisco.

    I have a router which is in modem mode which is a Netgear DG834N ADSL2+, I now want to put the Cisco behind this, I've managed to get onto the PDM GUI and set a IP up of and the Netgear DG834N ADSL2+ is

    I cant seem to get the PIX working at all!

    ISP Details:
    1 Static IP
    ISP is Be Internet
    No Username or Passwords Required for ISP

    Looking at your config, you have the outside interface set to DHCP; if you have a static IP address you will need to configure the outside interface with that address.

    ip address outside subnetmask
