  • Upgrading bootrom loader 2620XM

Hi I want to upgrade my bootrom to version 12.2(8r), I have three 2620XM routers 2 having the bootrom (ver 12.2(8r) and one having a lower version.

Is there a way to copy the bootrom (ver 12.2(8r) from one of the routers and upgrade the other?

    Regards

You will need to make sure you're not violating any license restriction but if I'm not mistaken you should be able to tftp the boot image (bin file) down from the one router and tftp it up to the others. Then you just need to load it on the new routers.

I believe this is the procedure:

I'd believe that the bootrom is stored in a chip which cannot be upgraded.
AFAIK you need to order the correct part.

Any particular reason why you want to upgrade the bootrom?
