  • Problem renewing IP lease

I've got a Cisco 871 router which acts as my DHCP server. The problem is that when i request for a renew on a client (ipconfig /renew) I get the following response:

    Windows IP Configuration
An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection 2 : unable to c
ontact your DHCP server. Request has timed out.
An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The sy
stem cannot find the file specified.

How come? It has contact with the router and I can ping it. The dhcp pool looks like this (pretty default):

    !
    ip dhcp pool sdm-pool
    import all
    network 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 10.0.0.1
    netbios-name-server 10.0.0.2
    lease 0 2
    !

    Hi,

Have you allowed UDP port 67 in your router .

Secondly i think some ACL is blocking

    Provide your
    1) Network diagram
    2) Router full config.

    Cheers
