  • Cisco 857 support subinterfaces?

    Can anybody help?

Does the 857 support the use of subinterfaces? or even the 877?

If not, what ths lowest model that does? the 1841??

    Re: Cisco 857 support subinterfaces?

    Hi,
I have cisco 871, and it doesn't support subinterfaces ot its fastether switch.

The four ports (fa0-fa3) are layer 2 switch. Only FA4 (WAN) port is layer 3 and support subinterfaces.
I think this is for all of the cisco 800 series routers.
    Regards!

      Correct, just been onto TAC,

The 837 supports subints, but doesnt support vlans,

The 857 supports only 1 vlan, and no subints.

The 877 supports only 4 vlans, and no subints (no good when u need 13)

The next model up which does, is the 1841. Which ive just ordered.
