  • Unable to config WRT54GL with 2950

    Hi,

We have assigned a public IP (within our range) to a spare port on one of our 2950 switches. It is handy for the odd time we need a connection outside of the firewall for visitors not required to join the domain. After contacting Linkysys, they informed me a WRT54GL would work as an ethernet router and access point in this manner;providing NAT and DHCP for a small wireless access area.

I have connected the 2950 port to the Internet/Ethernet port, and entered the Static IP, mask and Gate although I am unable to ping outside. There is an advanced settings page whereby you can change the system from a Gateway to Router (which I have done) and Dynamic or Static routing. I have set it to dynamic, although still unable to ping outside.

    Any pointers appreciated!

    Simon
