  • Cisco 877 ADSL Logon Issue

    Hey,

I'm having problems logging on to my cisco 877 adsl router config. It's brand new, out the box. The quick start manual says to power the router, connect it to an ethernet port and auto obtain an IP address. Well I've done thoughs steps, but no ip address is recieved. Using packet scanning I can see the DHCP Request being broadcast but nothing is being recieved.

Even if I specify the default cisco IP address, as stated for some of the other routers in the same manual, on the 10.10.10.0 network, I still can't ping or logon to the router.

I'm just using a straight through ethernet cable, connected to ethernet port 0, which was supplied in the box, which seems to work fine. The light comes on, on the router when it's plugged into my laptop.

    Any ideas anyone!?

    Cheers,
    Chris
