  • Cisco Catalyst 3550 - Assign IP Address to Switch Port

    Hello there,

We have a Catalyst 3550 and a block of 96 IP addresses. At present you can assign any Server any one of the IP addresses. However, I would like to control this such that I can limit which IP Addresses will route to certain ports. Certain ports may require more than one IP Address to be routed to it.

    Is this possible?

I am running the IP-Services (EMI) firmware.

    Thanks in advance,
    Oliver

    Hello

I think I understand what you are saying, but I am not 100% sure. Can you provide more details?

    1. What is the IP Address Range
    2. When you say "Limit" what IP address going to "Certain Ports" are you refering to the actual ports or do you intend upon assigning VLAN's to these ports?
    3. When you say "Certain ports may require more than one IP Address to be routed to it. " Do you mean creating VLAN subinterfaces on the actual switchport?

Sorry its been a long day.
