  • Interconnecting Cisco Switches in a Medium Size Network

    I'm on a project to connect users in a medium size network. There are currently three Interconnected Switches. The customer would like to have a redundant link between the switches links if one of the links fails from.

    Below is the current Inter-Switch connection:

    CISCO WS-C6509-E (Main Switch) - 1st Floor
    | ----> (GBIC Connector)
    |
    |
    CAT Switch 3500: 2d Floor
    |
    |
    |
    CAT Switch 3500: 3rd Floor

    Below is the proposed Inter-Switch connection ( right in bold) for Redundancy between Switches:

    CISCO WS-C6509-E (Main Switch) - 1st Floor
    | | -----> (GBIC Connector)
    | |
    | |
    | |
    CAT Switch 3500: 2d Floor
    | |
    | |
    | |
    CAT Switch 3500: 3rd Floor
