  • Translate outide IP to inside ip address

    Hi All,

I am using CISCO ASA 5505 router. My vendor will send TP packets to outside ip address 10.6.1.1 which needs to be automatically redirected to inside ip address 1.1.8.10 and send acknowledgement to sender ip address.
How acn I do this with NAT rule?

    Thanks,
    Reena

Re: Translate outide IP to inside ip address

If it is externally initiated you need a static and acl.

Your app would need to send the ack not the ASA though.

    Something like:

    static (inside,outside) 10.6.1.1 1.1.8.10
access-list inbound_on_outside permit tcp any host 10.6.1.1 eq www
    access-group inbound_on_outside in interface outside

Although I think 1.1.8.10 is more likely an external address (I do realise you made them up but 10.x.x.x is private)
    cheers
    Andy

Re: Translate outide IP to inside ip address

      Hi Andy,

      Thanks for replying.

My vendor sends TCP packets from ip address 10.6.1.6 to ip address 10.6.1.1. I need to redirect these packets to inside interface ip address 1.1.8.10.
ip addresses 10.6.1.6 and 10.6.1.1 are on ouside interface (provided by vendor).

      Thanks,
      Reena
