  • 3 Com 3300XM cascaded to 4500 Cisco Catalyst switch

I have multiple VLAN's in 4500 series catalyst switch. I connected and trunked 3Com 3300XM and setup member ports to particular vlan's. Is there any issue regarding this 2 devices networked together. I noticed some problem that some VLAN are not able to pass through 3com switch.

I appreciate you effort and reply.

    Thanks and Regards

Re: 3 Com 3300XM cascaded to 4500 Cisco Catalyst switch

Initially this OLD but GOOD 3Com switch supported up to 16 VLAN, using 802.1Q.
Try to use its latest agent from http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/r...fdt&order=desc to see if that has changed.
Also the switch supports VLT (Virtual LAN Trunk) tagging, which can only be used on links to legacy 3Com devices.

If none of the above is applicable to your environment, then make the link to cisco, end to end, 802.1Q compliant trunk (all VLAN tagged but the default VLAN).

    Hope this helps!
