  • disable DHCP

New to cisco, but using a cisco ADSL Router 827H. I am trying to disable DHCP on the Cisco router so that SW 3 , will do dhcp.

The commands I come across are:
no service dhcp & no ip dhcp.

Tried the above commands with no success.

    here is what i get.

    thom#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    thom(config)#no ip dhcp
    % Incomplete command.

    thom(config)#no service dhcp

    00:32:09: %SYS-2-NOPROCESS: No such process 0
    -Process= "Exec", ipl= 0, pid= 2

    ***********************************************
Point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

Umm cut and paste of router config

    ip subnet-zero
    ip name-server XXX.xxx.xxxx.xxx
    ip dhcp excluded-address xxx.xxx.2.254
    ip dhcp excluded-address xxx.xxx.2.1
    !
    ip dhcp pool dhcppool
    import all
    network xxx.xxx.2.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router xxx.xxx.2.254
    default-router xxx.xxx.2.254

    Re: disable DHCP

The "% Incomplete command" is a hint to you that the router is expecting more for the "no ip dhcp" command. The command probably is "no ip dhcp pool dhcppool". Try that and see what happens.
