  • 1000Base-T GBIC

    Hi,

I've got a couple of 1000-T GBICS, which I believe are dead since I can't get a link on them even if I administratively bring them UP. I've tried them in a couple of 3550's with no luck....

Does anyone know of a way which I can definitely check the state of these modules? (to see whether they are indeed dead!)

    Thanks in advance....

    Re: 1000Base-T GBIC

If the GBICs are compatible with your Cisco switch and the modules are not physically damaged, they should work.
How did you test the link, did you connect to another switch? if YES, is the uplink cable crossover or straight-thru? Notice that it should be crossover, otherwise there should be a mdix auto interface subcommand.
