  • VLAN - IP Range

    Hi everyone,

I am setting up a vlan on a cisco 2900 switch. He is my config:
    Code:
    conf t
    Hostname Sydney_Switch
    line console 0
    password xxx
    login
    line vty 0 15
    password xxx
    login
    exit
    interface VLAN2
    ip address xxxx

    no shutdown
    where i have got
    Code:
    ip address xxxx
how do i make it a range of IP's? This is because we are using DHCP.

    TIA
    Matty

      Re: VLAN - IP Range

sorry if i didnt explain my question properly,I mean that insted of using the line
      Code:
      ip address xx.xx.xx.xx xx.xx.xx.xx
      ip address xx.xx.xx.xx xx.xx.xx.xx
      ip address xx.xx.xx.xx xx.xx.xx.xx
to select IP addresses that will be in a single VLAN, is there way that i can select a scope of IP's that will be in a single VLAN

Not sure I follow here. The 2950 is purely layer 2. You define a single IP address on a management VLAN for it. Any other vlans you define you don't define any IP info on the switch.
