  • The "nicest" bug ever

CISCO Pix 515E has a nice bug I just discovered.

    Machine config 1:
Windows XP Pro SP2, Office 2007, IE7.0, MS Java 5.0

    Machine config 2:
Windows XP Pro SP2, Office 2007, IE6.0, MS Java 5.0

If you try to access the PDM via web with config 1, you will fail. The PDM screen wil launch, but the PDM itself will not.

If you try to access the PDM with config 2, you will get the same results, BUT - here is the trick. Right click anywhere on the white space within the window you just got and is hanging and then click on "Export to Microsoft Excel". You will get a debug window - continue with the different alerts, and logins, and you will suddenly get the PIX PDM launched!

Nice? I don't know, but if you encounter this issue - here is you workaround....

    Enjoy.

If you learn to use the CLI you'll find your life is a lot easier. SSH clients are available for quite literally any platform under the sun...
