  • config e0 to communicate with adsl modem

    hello everyone,

    I am trying to setup a test network with my home adsl modem and 2 cisco (2501) routers and a switch. I have a dynamic IP. Is it possible to connect my modems ethernet cable to the e0 int of my cisco router and then aloud the inside network to use the net. I know how to config DHCP and NAT in the local int but Im not sure if what Im trying to do is possible. Any help greatly appreciated.

    The plan:

    NET-->ADSLModem-->Router1(e0)-->S0-->S0(Router2)-->e0-->Switch

      Yes although you'll get a significant speed hit on the back to back serial connection.

      On your router on your side add a default route pointing to the serial interface of the router hosting the DSL modem, and then on the router hosting the DSL modem add a route to your network's subnet.
