  • Reconnecting message

    Hi,

We have 2 NLB Terminal Servers.

Lately when i log on to the virual cluster ip-address i get a message stating that he is reconnecting 1 of the 20.

After about 10 sec. it goes trough. Sometimes when i leave and come back the screensaver is active.

If i than press a button, the message is back again for about 10 sec.

However if i connect to the real ip-address of one of the terminal servers than there are no problems.

    Is this a common problem?

    Did you use:

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../o2k3dpts.mspx

    ?

Do you have good network switch - e.g. Nortel, Cisco, HP, Jupiter?

No we do not use this, we use RES Powerfuse to deploy Office.

But it's not office related, it's the fact that when i logon a message pops up with reconnecting.

We have a HP Procurve 5308xl switch.

        Did you review:

        http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window...855cb1033.mspx

        ?

Do you use latest OS for the HP switch? Did you set a static MAC address in the CAPI table?

Yes, i reviewed the one of brian madden.

          FW Version: E.10.37

I do not know what you mean with the static MAC in the capi table. Do you mean a static MAC address on a port?

            Re: Reconnecting message

I guess that HP call it static MAC address on a port.
            The link:

Contain information on network switch problems..

              Re: Reconnecting message

As i tought, but no i did not do that because

we have 2 windows 2003 TS configured with NLB

These 2 servers have both 2 GB NIC's.
I have Teamed these 2 cards so each server has a troughput of 2gb.

These 4 NIC's are connected to the switch.
Do i have to specify the virtual MAC Adres on these 4 ports?
