  • Remote Desktop Problem.

I have windows 2003 installed on my server but this server is on workgroup.

I cant connect via remote dektop, though the network is available.

    the firewall is disabled.

I want to join to the domain, it refuses, I get an error that the domain is not available.

Please let me know what is the problem and what needs to be looked into in terms of services?

    Re: Remote Desktop Problem.

Is your problem that you cannot remote desktop to it or that you cannot join it to the domain?

Check the DNS settings in your network card properties.

      Re: Remote Desktop Problem.

You have a Windows 2003 member server that you want to join to a Domain. Is that correct?
How does the server get its IP and other settings?
Does the DNS on the member server point to the Domain Controller?

Have you tried changing the suffix on the member server before trying to add it to the Domain? Obviously insert YOUR Domain Name.
