  • Don't keep my Folder view settings in Windows Explorer

    Hello,

I'm using some Windows 2003 Servers with Citrix Metaframe PS3. When a user connects to a session and configures the Folder View in Windows Explorer, all folder settings are reset to default (icons) when he logs the session off.

I've disabled the "Folder options" menu via GPOs for security reasons and I've tried all what I could find on the forums (Bags & BagsMRU; Remember all folders views; Turn on Classic shell; disable GPOs; ...) but nothing has resolved my "problem".

I thank you in advance for your help.

    Steph

      Yes I do.
I've incremented the number of folders in the registry keys ...Shell\Bags & ...ShellNoRoam\Bags but my problem persists.

The users connect to a desktop via a Published Application.

Re: Don't keep my Folder view settings in Windows Explorer

Did you logon with the user account and add the entries as describe in:

        http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=813711

If you log with another user, the settings wouldnt affect the user with this problem. You can also try to delete and recreate the user profile.

Yes, I've added the registry keys following the Microsoft recommandations.

And the problem is for all users in my domain. I've also deleted the user profile and recreate it (user with administrative rights to be sure...)

                Hi,

                sorry for the delay...
No I don't have found any solution for this issue. It seems the citrix server checks the registry key "HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Default" = Citrix Server Hostname, and if the current hostname is different, all entries about folder views are deleted... BUT which ENTRIES...
