  • A RDP/VPN Printer Quesition

im using VPN to creat a secure connection to my work, and a RDP connection
to a Terminal server to work on a company program.

my problem is that by connecting to the server my default printer is the printer configured on the server...

i know that VPN means that im "in the network" but how can i configure that the defualt printer will be my local one ?

if not, in which connection can i work secure and print locally ???

    thank for the help

    Re: A RDP/VPN Printer Quesition

The default settings allow the local printer to become the default printer.
Please check that you local printer drivers installed on the terminal server.
Also, please note that installing drivers that doesn’t support terminal server and/or
Doesn’t sign by Microsoft can create problems.

The printer mapping depand on few settings:

        1. The driver tat reside on both computer (you home PC + Server)
        2. The policy that allow you to map printers (e.g. GPO, Local RDP client settings)

        http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...cb5f8b2b7.mspx

You can verity mapping in the "Terminal Services Configuration" tool (from admin tools) and the local RDP client (Please use RDP 5.2)
