  • add network printer

    Hi,

i am new to this forum and i have a problem adding networkprinter to a TS.

TS is a W2K8 r2, setup with GPO recommended by Microsoft article. The printers are hosted on a W2K3 printserver in the same domain. Printers should be mapped by script. When a user loggs on to the TS, the script starts installing the printer, but then stopps with "access denied".

The user has full-access to the printers share on the printserver.
Point and Print is disabled in GPO in Computer- and Usersetting

May someone help me with this issue

    Re: add network printer

You don't need to use a logon script to map printer. The user doesn't have Admin privilege.
You can use Windows 2008 / 2008 R2 feather to add to user printer or just pre-create them on the T2.

      Hi Yuval14,

      Thanks for your replay.

I have several printers on my printserver, and do not want to map all printers for every user. Each user should become his own printer. Thats the reason why i want to use scripts.

You can use Windows 2008 / 2008 R2 feather to add to user printer or just pre-create them on the T2.
Can you explain this a bit more?

      Thanks Grobi

        Re: add network printer

        Hi,

You can use a few technics:

        http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...indows-r2.html

        http://theintegrity.co.uk/2010/07/ho...08-7-vista-xp/

        http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc754699.aspx

Or, just set security settings for each printer.... or, allow the end user computer to map the required printers from the local machine...
