  • RDS Printing Issue

    Consider the following senario.

    2x Windows 7 x64 clients
    1x Ricoh IP printer

Both clients can print direct to the IP printer locally.

Both cleint machines can log into the TS session and printers get redirected.

When sending a print job from client A from the TS session everythiing prints ok. When sending the same print job from client B from a TS session the job fails to print off.

Both users are subject to the same group policies.
Both users are a member of the same security groups.
Printing via a local admin fails in TS session fails.
Printing via a domain admin from TS also fails.
No error messages as far as I can see.

    Any suggestions?

    Re: RDS Printing Issue

Do you use "Easy Print"? Is the printer is using a signed driver?

      Hi Yuval,

      Yes im using Easyprint.
      1x client works

Please create a new user + profile and set it to work with the TS.
If its works fine, the user profile may demage and need to be replace.

Did you use Client A or Client B to do the print test?

Client B. The machine that cant print.

When testing from Client A everything prints fine under all accounts both administrative and user.

                    Re: RDS Printing Issue

So, you may have some local issue.
                    Try to:

                    1. Delete all printer drivers.
                    2. Upgrade the RDP client.
                    3. Using a new local profile on the workstation.
                    Best Regards,

                        Re: RDS Printing Issue

There is allways problems with RDP printing, Best solution is use commercial solution. Too much printers on server could lead to system crash.

There is several comercial solutions for this, in my opinion best buy is TSPrint

                        Easy to use.

We've experienced all sorts of issues with TS/Easyprint.

Have you tried swapping logins on to see if the problem follows the hardware?
