  • Can't Print via TS

    Hi,

I have a server that is a Domain Controller + DNS + TS.
Everything is working fine except printing via Terminal Services.
Remote app is working fine however when i'm trying to print i get access denied in the logs (please see attached screenshot).

I did add the appropriate users to %windir%\system32\spooler but still not working.

    Please advise.

    Re: Can't Print via TS

First, using DC as TS is a bad idea...
Second, can you provide more details on this issue? (e.g. Did you install Framework 3.5 on the client side, how did you install the print driver on the server/client etc.)

      Re: Can't Print via TS

Framework 3.5 is installed on the client side.
Printer is installed on the client side but not on the server side.

Should i install printer driver on the server side as well ?

      P.S
In Event Viewer I also see warnings that the same printer is deleted automatically. Is it due to missing drivers ?

      Thank you!

The driver is installed on the server but still have the same issue.
Why do I get the permission denied ?

        Any ideas ?

        Thank you,

The driver name in the client + TS is the same? Did you tried to use "Easy Print" feather?

            Re: Can't Print via TS

            HI,

I resolved the issue and its not driver related.

The access denied was due to spool folder in %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32 , i did add the appropriate users however it didn't help. I create Temp folder and adjust spool folder in the server printer configuration to that temp folder.
