  • How can I purge Citrix PS 4.5 XTE log

    I have a server running Presentation Server 4.5 with an enormous XTE log file. I'm pretty sure I've fixed the problem that caused it to grow, but haven't been able to find out how to purge it, or empty it, or recreate it.

    That would take care of my immediate problem, but I'd also appreciate a link to somewhere I could get some information on Session Reliability and viewing the log file.

    Hi,

    Do you mean to:

    c:\program files\Citrix\XTE\logs\error.log

    What is log level of: loglevel emerg in

    C:\Program Files\Citrix\XTE\conf\httpd.conf

      Thanks for replying Yuval. That was EXACTly what caused the problem to begin with. I fixed it 4 or 5 times before I found the page that explained that anything between #Citrix_Begin and #Citrix_End would be lost with the next reboot. So the cause is now fixed... but the log file remains large.

      I have considered stopping the service and deleting the file... renaming the file and creating a zero byte file with that name, or copying a file from a different server in the farm, but I didn't know what the consequences might be. So I was hoping to find someone who could answer the questions for me.

        You can stop the XTE service, moved the file and restart the service. For what I remember, the file will be recreated.
