  • Remote Desktop Gateway - Query

I have setup a Remote Desktop Gateway server. It works perfectly fine when connecting from Windows XP/Windows 7 machines but when someone tries to connect from a machine running Server 2008 R2 it won't connect. It brings up the disclaimer and then sits there saying 'Initialising Remote Connection' .

Does anyone know if people running Server 2008 can use a Remote Desktop Gateway? If it is supposed to be compatible has anyone got any tips for fault finding this issue?

The TS Gateway is running Server 2008 R2.

My issue is when a user tries connecting to one of our servers through our TS Gateway (when their operating system is 2008 R2), it just hangs there saying "Initialising Remote Connection".

The TS is using correct TS license server + correct license mode?
Also, do you use Microsoft NLB? Any firewall/antivirus?

We don't use MS NLB, in this instance we are only using it for a 3rd party to admin/manage one of their systems so they aren't connecting to a Terminal Server (so no need for a license server?*)

I have built a server and tested it without AV and the Windows firewall disabled (on the client machine).

          * Please correct me if I am wrong

Is this issue occur on the LAN?
If you installed the TS with TS role, you need to setup + but a TS licenses.
